Who is Sperm Freezing for?

Men freeze their sperm for many reasons, including for use within surrogacy and ahead of medical treatments that may affect fertility, such as chemotherapy or gender reassignment. Sperm freezing can also be chosen by men who are about to have a vasectomy, or have a low sperm count, and are undergoing our IVF + ICSI treatment.

What Does Sperm Freezing Involve?

The sperm freezing process is simple, and can be split into four steps:

1.       Firstly, blood tests will be carried out to check for infectious diseases including HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C.

2.       You will then need to provide written consent for us to store your sperm, in accordance with the law.

3.       Following this, you will then produce the sperm sample at one of our partner clinics.

4.       Once you have provided us with a sample, your sperm will be frozen in small batches, and stored inside liquid nitrogen.

Our sperm freezing package includes all treatment services required for one full sperm freezing cycle (from one sperm production episode), and storage for one year. The frozen sperm can be thawed whenever you are ready to use it.
